XXVIII Meeting of the ESVS

Welcome to Stockholm!

On behalf of the ESVS and the Local Organizing Committee, it is a great honour to invite you to Stockholm for the XXVIII Meeting of the ESVS to be held 23-25 September. Through the will of the inventor and entrepreneur Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize has been awarded 555 times since 1901. It is our belief that this unique feature of Stockholm and the Karolinska Institute, that selects the Nobel Laureates in Physiology and Medicine, will generate optimum conditions for a successful meeting for the society.

The meeting will take place in the Stockholm Waterfront Conference Centre, located next to the City Hall, which will very generously host our Welcome Reception. A short stroll gives access to the historical centre of Stockholm and the central island of the Old Town with archaic North German architecture, the Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum and Sweden’s baroque Royal Palace.

Inspired by the Nobel Prize on science in medicine, the ESVS and the Local Organizing Committee will create an ESVS meeting with a strong scientific focus, keynote lectures, symposia and workshops. Symposia will be organized on imaging, vascular trauma, thoracic disease, aortic emergencies and renal interventions. A nurses and technicians program will be arranged with focus on educational issues, team building and the future of vascular nursing.
